Seekord ma panen maakeeli. Vot.
Nagu näha siis ma sain omale mahjongi. Nii kurb kui see ka pole, siis see ost oli otseselt mõjutatud sellest animest. See selleks.

Tegelikult sellel on paar põhjust, miks ma seekord eesti keelseid sõnu siin pillun. Mahjongi mängimiseks on nimelt tarvis nelja inimest. Mul on Hax.

Muuseas, nende kohtumispaik on mul siin umbes paarisaja meetri kaugusel.
Ahja, jaapanist rääkides, mahjongi on plaanis mängida siis jaapani reeglite järgi.

Filler #1

2007-12-14 20:22:46 — n0nst0p (filler,winapi,programming,talen)
I've only got like a few things to say, so I'm going to be brief.

So, it began like this: on wednesday evening Maizi and some other guy whose name I eventually never got dropped by. The latter one was supposed to be related to Maizi, so I figured he's ok. I was enjoying myself as usual in the middle of the week, when I get a rare chance to be completely alone and write code and listen to jazz. And magic carpet ride by Steppenwolf. Can't leave that out.

Anyway, on to the point: they threw a bunch of .wav files and a poorly indented c code that barely compiled into my face and told me that they need to have a program that plays those in given sequence. Without further pondering on the topic, I sat down to implement it. Well, they also pretty much filled our fridge with beer, too. I rarely drink nowadays, but I figured others might be happy. :p

After some programmer-jokes only I understood and cursing another one of my Pointless Thingies™ was born. I'm releasing this one to the Public Domain, because it's completely useless. It just plays some notes. If you find the code useful, then you're probably doing something wrong.

So, without further ado, here's the thingie: SequencerThingie-0.0.zip. Both source and binaries are included, as well as a Code::Blocks project file for easy building. Have fun. ^^

That's that, moving on. So much about being brief. I guess I lied again. :p The second thing I wanted to draw attention to, was that when I was reading ZeKeemik's blog a few days ago, I noticed a picture on her site that I had already seen somewhere. Not quite in the same form, but close enough. The blog post I'm referring to is this one.
See if you get the idea.

Ja mata ^^

Yatta~!

First things first, I was browsing around the new place ZeKeemik moved her blog to and found this thing that rates blogs. Apparently mine is R-rated. Yatta! The latest posts are only PG though, I guess I should fix that.. fuck fuck fuck shit crap crap!

Those who know me might have noticed that I usually tend to have the worst luck possible. Today, however, something odd happened and now I'm the proud owner of urusai.net. Yeah. The original domain I wanted and which was taken and why we decided on uruchai in the first place. But all is good, since they both point to the same thing now anyway. And it will probably be even useful attracting people to this site. Not that the mentioned site ever serves a purpose or is of any help to anyone. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that I now own both of the domains. Gotta catch 'em all, I guess. ^^

Dewa, mata atode.

Gaspassing made easy!

So, here I am, back in the wretched realm I despise so much.. yes, i'm back in black on Vista Home Basic.

The last week, however, has been rather productive. I've seen things most people couldn't even dream of. I've danced with shadows, I've kissed angels, caught demons, played with fire, hunted the most beautiful beast of them all... Why oh why you ask? Well, my family decided it would be great fun to completely destroy my comp's motherboard.. well, can't be helped, some are just not bright. So, here I am, at my gramps' place. Great fun it is, I wonder why i don't come here more often. Ahyes, VISTA
This post sucks ass, but i'm bored

Finally here!

2007-12-06 11:34:08 — n0nst0p (programming,graphics,3d)

After 3 weeks of patient waiting and regular checking of the mailbox, the GPU Gems 3 book is finally here. It arrived yesterday, but I had no time to write about it. The book pretty much filled my evening.

There are some pretty neat and awesome algorithms in that book. Some that I might consider fiddling around with in near future, given that I have any free time from all the other projects I have going on. However, some of them have obvious optimizations possible that weren't mentioned. Maybe I'm just imagining things.

Another thing I noticed is that the stuff described in the book is pretty much always promoting the new Geometry Shader system that lies between vertex shaders and pixel shaders. Really cool stuff. Unfortunately, I don't have a Series 8 card yet, so I can't actually use GS-s. Some of those neat algos that aren't too dependent on GS-s can be retrofitted to work on Series 7 cards too, I think. So I guess I have some hacking to do.

One thing that was sort of disappointing was that the third volume of the book had a lot of video demo material on the companion cd and clearly not enough examples how to exactly implement some of the algorithms presented. But I guess one has to use one's head once in a while too, eh? :p

And now for something completely different: Did you know that hax has a birthday on December 22nd? Did you also know that December 22nd is the Global Orgasm Day? We (all who know hax) should probably do something on that day to celebrate both of those events. ^^
Edit: Disregard the last part, he lied about his birthday. Now how pathetic is that?
